Before entering his studies, Andreas went to a technical college in Vienna, specializing in communications engineering.
During his studies he worked as a freelancer, providing IT services to small companies, as well as a student assistant in IT Security and web engineering. During that time, Andreas also worked for over seven years as software developer at Austria's largest Internet service provider, analyzing work and communication processes and providing software solutions for service management operations.
Before joining the Austrian Federal Chancellery as Cyber Security Officer and part of the Austrian Government Computer Emergency Response Team (GovCERT), Andreas worked as IT consultant in the financial sector, providing services to banks in Germany and Austria.
Andreas holds a Master's degree in Technology Policy by the University of Cambridge, UK, where he managed consulting projects for Microsoft and the UK Technology Strategy Board. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics and two Master's degrees in Business Informatics and Computer Management by the University of Vienna, where he specialized in information security, e-business and e-government, and computer networks.
