Lene Jensby Lange is a trusted international voice in school design and the founder of Autens, a Denmark-based future schools consultancy. She works with foundations, local authorities, schools, educators, students and architects to dream big and bridge educational visions with the design of schools and learning environments.
Lene combines pedagogical insight with participatory and user-driven design, shaping compelling visions for the future and translating these into architectural briefs and innovative learning environments - and supports professional development in the process. Community, inclusion, 21st-century skills, play and authentic learning are central to her work.
She has contributed to a large number of new-build and transformation projects, including five award-winning Danish schools. Autens’ participatory design methods have been recognised three times by HundrED among the world’s 100 leading innovations in education. Lene is an invited expert to OECD Education 2040, has contributed to several books on learning spaces, and recently co-founded the European Learning Environments Network.
