Mo Ching-Ying Lai

With over 17 years of professional experience, Mo has worked at prestigious firms including Gehry Partners, Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) in New York, and UNStudio in Amsterdam. Throughout her career, she has successfully managed projects of various scales, encompassing master plans, architecture, and interior design, from initial conceptualization to final realization. 
Since joining Snøhetta she has led in international project including a large mixed use project in Thailand in construction, and an ongoing masterplan & Architecture design project situated at the southbank of Bratislava. 
 Her practice with the team at Snohetta constantant evolves around design that address no only the users but also the environment where the projects sit. The context needs to be sensitively engaged in order for the realized project to make sense. Hence in the architecture design , Mo and the team always engage not only the related constultants, but also very much integral part of the practice is to engage sustainability and engergy experts. At times, cultural consultants or artists are brought in to the team to stimulate diruptions to the set ideas. This multi-diciplinary way of practices has been in the core of her professional practices.
