Simon Harrison

Simon been working in utilities in Great Britain for over 20 years, most of them working with metering of one flavour or another - and always at the leading edge of change. He worked on the npower Smart Programme for two years before being an integral part of the new Smart Innovation team. This followed five years working as a consultant at Energy UK where he was the technical lead on their ground breaking smart metering project, prior to this he was with British Gas for 12 years in a number of metering and industry roles. He was the author of several of the early key smart metering specification designs and documents, and has been an active participant in the Government programmes since their inception - particularly on the technologies of smart metering. He is currently working on npower's thinking and partnerships to address the next steps for smart energy and the smart home, working with a range of organisations from the smallest start ups to some of the biggest companies in the market.
