Engineering Group Manager Functional Safety, Electronic Controls, Delphi Deutschland GmbH
In 2010 Dr. Wolfgang Freese joined the Delphi EC Functional Safety Coreteam. As part of
the team he gave ISO26262 trainings at several European Technical Centers and supported
projects throughout the whole safety lifecycle.
Effective October 1, 2014, Dr. Wolfgang Freese took over the responsibility as Engineering
Group Manager Functional Safety for Delphi Electronic Controls Europe. In his role he is
now responsible for the implementation and execution of ISO 26262 in all European projects
of Delphi Electronic Controls Europe.
Since early 2013 Dr. Freese is particularly focused on safety analyses namely on Fault-Tree
Analysis. He developed a methodology to systematically derive fault trees from function
definitions and system specifications. The so-called system frame analysis based on
architecture models describes the systematic identification of failure modes of all subsystems
